Global Pediatric Care is a humanitarian organization committed to delivering equitable, high-quality care to children in Afghanistan and other crisis-affected communities. Guided by compassion, integrity, and a commitment to neutrality, we serve all children without discrimination.
Through pediatric rehabilitation, trauma-informed mental health support, and community-based partnerships, we work to restore mobility, improve health outcomes, and uphold the dignity of every child we serve.
Our programs currently serve children in Afghanistan, where access to wheelchairs, mobility devices, and rehabilitation services remains critically limited. We are dedicated to ensuring that every child can access the care they need—regardless of geography or circumstance.

Meet The Founder
Helai Ghani, MD
Dr. Helai Ghani is a physician and global health advocate dedicated to advancing equitable pediatric care for children in underserved and crisis-affected settings.
With over a decade of experience in pediatric outpatient medicine, including specialization in special needs care and complex care coordination, she founded Global Pediatric Care to address critical gaps in access to essential health and rehabilitation services.
Her work prioritizes the identification of children with unmet medical and functional needs and the delivery of targeted, community-based interventions that improve mobility, access to care, and long-term health outcomes. Through partnerships with local stakeholders, she develops scalable, culturally responsive programs designed to strengthen service delivery in low-resource settings.
Dr. Ghani’s approach integrates direct clinical care with capacity-building efforts to support local providers, enhance care coordination, and expand access for vulnerable populations.
Grounded in a commitment to equity and dignity, she believes that measurable impact—improved function, increased access, and sustained community engagement—is essential to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
